I’m really tired lately, which is jumbling my thoughts and impeding my writing. However, I am a collage maker at heart, which means the visuals must go on. As I unwind from my day, I often enjoy browsing archived X-Files sites from the late 90s and early aughts. I share the gems I find on my xfilesuniversity tumblr if you have any similar old internet proclivities.
Recently, I’ve been entranced by awards gifted between users for their sites. Each award has a themed title, graphic, and a link back to the presenter. A lot of classic geocities-era websites have an awards page where they display their digital trophies. The fonts, titles, colors, and image effects soothe me.

I wanted to rest my weary bones today by writing less. I decided to make a few of my own awards with the help of canva. My awards capture some of my favorite themes in the current X-Files fandom communities I’ve found. Congrats on everyone who connects to the awards below:
notes from the field report: things that have caught my eye recently
“Fanfiction writers battle AI, one scrape at a time” from The Verge
“At Last the New Arriving” by Gabrielle Calvocoressi
eighth wonder by wizardempire on AO3
i’m back on my normal gossip grind, and i loved Teenage Cop Camp with Josie Duffy Rice. it’s a fun story, and there’s plenty of acab-related discussion of how forensic science is faulty, as well as how cops should not be like that.
